Victoria J. Peters

Dr. Peters is a believer in positive psychology and focuses on helping her clients tune into that part of themselves that is inherently wise and healthy. She has a strong interest in mindfulness based psychotherapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Her therapeutic interventions are based on sound research in the fields of mind/body medicine, behavior therapy and cognitive therapy.

Dr. Peters views therapy as a co-creative process between herself and her client(s). Her therapeutic approach is most often solution oriented, short-term, and based on current research. She frequently uses mindfulness based cognitive therapy and mindfulness based stress reduction as outcome research is supporting the use of meditation in psychotherapy.

Dr. Peters received the 2005 Lambert Award which is given by PacifiCare to those therapists who achieve the best outcomes in their clinical work. She works primarily with adults and couples and she usually coordinates care with the referring physician or primary care physician unless her client objects. Most insurances are accepted, however please call your insurance company to determine if Dr. Peters is in your network of providers.
